4:285 – The Peace In My Troubled Sea
#faithbites #faithjourney troubled
At my daughter’s volleyball tournament, in between games, they were playing Christian music. A song that reminded me of Vacation Bible School came on: “My lighthouse” by Rend Collective. The song is catchy with motions and an easy to repeat chorus. What struck me today while listening is the lyric, “Your great love will lead me through. You are the peace in my troubled sea.” That is what God is. He doesnt prevent you from hardships or struggles. He is your rock and your peace while ylu are goong through whatever ypu are going through.
Today’s Questions: How does God help you when you are struggling? Do you ever feel lost in your troubled sea?
- John 16:33 – I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
- 2 Thessalonians 3:16 – Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.
Sometimes we have to dig deep to interpret scripture or to apply it to our specific situation. This isn’t one of those times. Jesus specifically tells us that we have peace in him and we will have tribulations in the world. In 2 Thessalonians, we zee that Jesus is the peace and gives it to us at all tkmes in everyway AND he is with all of us. That is very clear.
Jesus is our peace in our troubled sea. No matter what, he is our peace and our comfort.
As we close, remember Jesus is the light of thd world and our lighthouse. Look for his light in all situations. You wont be disappointed.
Lord Jesus, we can’t do it alone. We know what halpems when we try. Thank you for being the peace in our troubled sea. You are our lifeguard, rock, amd salvation. We pray that you help us to always turn to you when the seas are rough and we are struggling. In your gracious, forgiving, amd comforting name, we pray, Amen.
