Setting

We all have good days and bad days. Some days you just dont want to get out of bed and other days are great. I was reminded of this when I wat hed my daughter’s volleybLl games tonight. They had moments of awesomeness and moments of “What were they thinking”. I know they didnt win. Despite that, I see them getting better and better each game.

We are like that. Momemts when we are better than evwr before and moments when we think, “What the hecl was I thinking”. The beautiful thing is Jesus forgives no matter what.

Today’s Questions: How do you measure your improvement? How do you look at the downs as just growing pains and not as defining characteristics?

Scripture
  • Luke 4:40 – Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
  • Lamentations 3:22-23 – The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
Reflection

Every day is a new day. The Lords mercy never ceases and we have a chance to be better. The sun sets on our short comings and the Lord’s love greets us in the morning.

This is what we should be focusing on. The love and forgiveness and from Jesus. We all screw up, we all miss a hit or hit it out of bounds sometimes. We can let our lives be judged by our mistakes. God doesn’t do that for us, so qe shouldnt do that to ourselves. In addition, since we shoild love others as ourselves, we sboildnt judge others by the low point in their live. Let’s greet everyone with love and understanding.

As we close, forgive yourself qhen you make a mistake. Celebrate that over time you are getting better. And with God’s help, you will continue to get better until the end of the age.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for maming ua in your image. Thank you for sending yojr son to forgive us our sins. Thank you for giving us the tools and support to get better every day.

Lord, we love you. Lord, we pray that you help us focus on the improvements we are making in our loves rather than the mistakes. We pray this in your name, Amen.
