Setting

It’s been a couple of rough days. Pain, stress, and just a general lack of feeling good. When that happens to me, my depression and anxiety kick in which is never a good combination. Last night, I even had a horrible nightmare that made me think about all my relationships and what I’m doing in life. So, not a good start to the morning. Then God walked in.

First, I heard Lauren Daigle’s, “You Say” song then I received a text from one of our pastors thanking me for the devotional I wrote yesterday. Together, it showed me that what God says, I should believe it.

“You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And you say I am held when I am falling short
And when I don’t belong, oh You say I am Yours
And I believe

What You say of me
I believe”

Today’s questions: Are you fighting voices in your mind that says your not enough. Every single lie that tells you that you will never measure up? Do you believe your identity is given by God and you don’t have to earn it? Are you ready to believe that you are eloved and belong to God?

Scripture

For today’s scripture, we are going to do something a bit different. We are going to link the verses in this song to scripture. Because we believe in God’s word.

• You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing – Romans 5:8 – But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
• You say I am strong when I think I am weak – Joshua 1:9 – Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
• And you say I am held when I am falling short – Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
• And when I don’t belong oh You say I am Yours – Psalm 100:3 Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
• What You say of me I believe” – 2 Timothy 3:16 – All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

Reflection

All I can say, is the Bible is Powerful. God’s words and actions are powerful. Through a song, He can convey so many things. Through a text message, he can help us feel worthly.

As we close, remember this. You are loved, you belong, you are held, you are strong, and you are God’s Child. Nothing will ever change that.

Prayer

Father God, You say that I am loved and I belong. I want to believe it, but sometimes I fail. Sometimes, I let the devil’s lies sway me and lead me into temptation. We pray that you hold us up with your righteous hand and help us to never doubt what you say.

Lord, you are awesome and we are nothing without you. Remind us that the tdoesnt matter to you. That you have a plan, a purpose, and a palace for us always.

Jesus, we love you and pray all these things kn your awesome name, Amen.
