4:69 – Sleeping In The Light? Wake Up?

Good morning, time to wake Up!

Jesus works! On the way to my doctor’s office today, I was listening to WCIC and they were running a fundraising drive. Part of the conversation was all about waking up. That while we may be in the light, through Christ, are we still sleeping?

For me, I bathe in the light but know I am still sleeping. I’m not waking up enough and moving God’s plan forward.

Today’s questions: If you’ve accepted Jesus as your savior, are you sleeping in his light or are you awake? What are you doing to move His plan forward? Are you helping others see His light?

Scripture

• Romans 13:11 – Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.
• 1 Thessalonians 5:5-6 – For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober.
• Isaiah 60:1 – Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you

Reflection

Sometimes it’s hard to get moving in the morning. It’s a battle with ourselves to face the day. Being in Christ, we have a power and a mission. While we are saved by Christ through faith and not works, we need to move forward. Throughout the Bible, we are told that we are new creations, and it’s time to wake up.

For each of us,waking up may look different. It could be just spending time with the Lord in his word. Maybe you start volunteering to help others. It could be anything. It’s up to us to be awake. Nothing is too big or to little.

As we close, remember, we are avwws by faith and should want to be awake in Christ! Let’s move forward, share his word, his love, and live the life he wants us to.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank you for forgivig us of our sins. Thank you for making us new creations in you. Today, we pray for you to ignite that fire in us. Help us to be full awake and not just sleeping in your light. Help us to do our part of your plan. We may not know what it looks like, but know you have a way of making things happen.

We love you and thank you Lord. All is us want to bath in and use your light. Time for sleep is over, now is the time for action. We pray this in your name, Amen.
