4:344 – The Flux Is Confusing

I love Doctor Who. It’s history is amazing and fun. Right now, I’m watching season 13 (modern) and it’s subtitled Flux. Let me tell you is hurts my head. It has 6 episodes, at least 8 tangent and converging plot lines, time is a mess, space is a mess, and I’m just confused. I’ve heard most of it will make sense in the end, but it’s confusing right now.

Ths is how life is. Most of the time, we are in the Flux. Things may not make sense, we may not know where we are going, and the things we thought were normal are now wacky. But, like the universe of Doctor Who, where we know the Doctor will save the day, we have a God who will make it all make sense. We just need to listen, hold on tight to him, and know he will fix it.

Today’s Questions: What part of the Flux are you in right now? How will you make it to the end without the answers?

• Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
• Mark 4:37-40 – “And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, ‘Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?’ And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, ‘Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?’”

Reflection

From the beginning to the end, we are told to trust the Lord. That is the meaning of faith. We have to trust what we don’t see and know that God is here with us. Even the disciples had fear when the Flux (the storm) was all around them. On top of that, they had the Lord physically with them, yet they were afraid. We just need to be still, understand that even if we don’t know the how the universe will end up, but God does.

The Doctor has their sonic screwdriver and can think their way out of most problems. Even if the universe is in Flux, I know they will find a way.

As wwe close, God is greater than the Doctor and is in charge of all time and space. We have nothing to worry about. He will make it all make sense.

Prayer

Lord God, thank you for providing answers that we need. Thank you for reminding us that even if we don’t have the answers, you do. We pray that you help us be strong, still, and know that you have this all planned out.
