4:323 – Notes of Love and Support
#faithbites #faithjourney notes
Setting
As a kid, did you ever open up your lunch and there was a note from Mom or Dad saying how much they loved you or to have a great day? I know I did occasionally and it always made my day. My kids and my wife, have said they love when I leave them notes. In this world of constantly moving, doing, and going, we need to take time to tell people that they are loved, supported, needed, and cherished.
Lately, when someone at work sends an awesome email or does something great,t I send them a note saying how great that thing was or I appreciate them stepping in and helping me out. On social media, I will randomly send someone a note just telling them they are appreciated and loved. I hope it helps.
Today’s Questions: What can you do on a daily basis to support and love on people? How can simple notes, change a person’s day?
Scripture
- Hebrews 10:24-25 – “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
- Romans 15:2 – Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up.
- 1 Thessalonians 5:11 – “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
Reflection
As I was writing this, my boss sent a note to her whole team thanking them for their hard work and wishing them a great fall break. It took 5 seconds to write but notes like this have a huge impact. God tells us to think about ways to support, build up, love, and help our neighbors. Often, we try to think of huge grand gestures when all it takes is a note, a text, or something small. It’s something we all have time to do.
As we close, remember we are connected and living together. Building up each other through notes and other encouragements is something we should challenge ourselves to do.
Prayer
Lord God, help us support others as you support us. Throughout your word you tell us how much we are loved, cherished, and supported. We don’t have to flip far to find a verse that gives us hope and tells us we are doing a good job. Help us to emulate you by sharing notes of love, support, and encouragement. Help us not to get so busy that we forget this important part of living together. We thank you and pray this in your name, Amen.
