4:324 – Pictures Help Us Remember and Grow

Setting

Today, while at my desk, I found four very old SD cards. I foubd my card reader and started the drive down memory lane. I saw the birth of both of my children (pictures and videos), my dogs who have passed away, loved ones who are no longer with us, and various phases of my life. Not only did I look at these pictures, I shared them with my family. We all started to talk and relive some of those memories. I can’t believe everything I had forgotten.

Besides memories of events, pictures help us remember our goals, dreams, and passions.

Today’s Questions: How do pictures and memories help us live our life? Why does God give us memories?

Scripture

• Luke 2:19 – “But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.”
• John 14:26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
• Isaiah 46:9 – Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me,

Reflection

Memories are powerful. God sent us the Holy Spirit so we can remember his word in our hearts. We made pictures to rememebr these events. Pictures help us to see whwre we were, where ww are now, and how where we need to keep growing.

aome of the pictures I saw reminded me of when I was mich lighter and is belping me get back on tracl. Other pictures reminded me before I accepted Jesus as my perslnal savior. So much has changed.

As we close, lets not forgot to take and share our pictures. Let’s also not forget to remember how God has worked in our lives and keep him at the center.

Prayer

Lord God, thank you for memories and for helping us have items that help us rememeber what you have given us and how you’ve blessed our lives. We pray that you keep us strong, focused on you, and always heading toward led by your word. In your name, Amen.
