4:286 – Every Day is a New Opportunity

Setting

Some days I have deep things to share, other days not so much. Today isn’t a bad day or a great day, just another day. What I’m thankful for is that every day is a new opportunity. It gives us a chance to try to love move, share God more, explore more, and just be more. That doesn’t mean we have to do more or take on new things, it means we can be smarter about how we live our lives. The best thing is if we try and it fails or we have a bad day, tomorrow is another chance.

Today’s Questions: How are you going to use your new opportunity today? What are you thankful for today?

Scripture

• Lamentations 3:22-23 – The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
• Isaiah 43:18-19 – “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.

Reflection

God’s love never ceases. He loves us enough to give us free will. WIth that free will brings new challenges and new opportunities. If we mess up, his mercy never ends. He loves us and through Christ, lets us cast off our old selves. He did a new thing in Christ which cleansed us and bound us. We too get to do a new thing every day.

As we close, just remember that you have choices and opportunities. If an opportunity passes, another will cover. Lean on God and be excited for the next opportunity.

Prayer

Father God, we thank you for today and all our tomorrows. Thank you for giving us opportunities to grow and share. Thank you for helping us see that tomorrow is a new day and a new chance to grow and share. We love you, thank you, and pray that you help us take advantage of all the opportunities you provide us today, tomorrow, and the next day. We pray this in your name, Amen.
