June 24 – Pray for Healing
4:175 – Pray for Healing

#faithbites #faithjourney healing

Setting

We all experience pain. It may be mental, physical, spiritual, financial, or a combination of them. When we are in pain, it just sucks. No other words to describe it. Today has been a bad physical pain day for me. I’ve slept, watched TV, and haven’t moved much. I’ve been blessed with a best friend to take care of me and my daughter made me lunch. God is working through them.

Today, let’s just pray together for healing for everyone. No qualifiers or quantifiers on who, what, why, or when. Just for healing for everyone.

Today’s Question: What healing do you need today? How can we pray for you?

Scripture
  • Jeremiah 17:14 – “Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”
  • Jeremiah 30:17 – “‘But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the Lord.”
  • Luke 6:19 – “And the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all.”
Reflection

From original sin until today, we have experienced pain. And from original sin until today, God has healed his people when they cry out for him. We may not know when or how, God will cure us, but he will. We may not be able to physically touch Jesus as those in the Gospels did, we can spiritually reach out for his healing powers.

As we’ve said, God works in mysterious ways. His healing may take away the pain physically or he may put people in your life to ease your burden as my best friend and daughter did. Either way, his healing is powerful and welcome.

As we close, let us remember to Love our God, thank our God for what he has done, and pray for healing for all.

Prayer

Lord God, thank you for being a source of healing since the beginning. Tonight we pray that you heal all of us no matter what our pain is, where it comes from, or how long we have had it. We are open to you and your ways. Please use us to reduce the burdens of others and help in the process. We pray all of this in your name, Amen.
