4:70 – Feeling Under The Weather
#faithbites #faithjourney weather
Setting
Today is one of those days that my father would say, “My get up and go has got up and left”. I’m exhausted, tired, and just feeling under the weather. Not sure if it’s a bug, stress, or just burning the candle at both ends. Today, is a day for rest. But never fear, God’s word is here.
Today’s questions: When you are feeling under the weather, how do you keep strong? What can you do to help others who are under the weather physically, mentally, or spiritually?
Scripture
- Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
- Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
- Psalm 30:2 – “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.”
- 2 Corinthians 4:17 – “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”
Reflection
While our bodies need medicine to heal, our soul needs God’s medicine. They say laughter is the best medicine, I think God’s medicine is the best. (And yes, laughter never hurts the healing process).
Looking at God’s word, he tells us several things: 1) We are never alone, 2)He will meet all of our needs, 3) He will uphold us and strengthen us, 4) If we ask, he will heal us, and 5) Our troubles are momentary compared to the eternal Glory of God.
Sure, when you are under the weather, life stinks. Right now I’m writing with a headache / migraine and fatigue. I just want to sleep. Tomorrow, I will probably feel right as rain. This is a temporary feeling. The love that God has and the support his people provide are eternal. All we have to do for that is have faith in Christ!
As we close today, I hope none of you are under the weather and if you are, remember that God heals physical, mental, and spiritual pains. All you need to do is ask and listen.
Prayer
Father God, we pray today for all those who are under the weather. Regardless if it’s physical, mental, financial, spiritual, or any other trouble, we ask for your healing. Let them feel your love, your righteous hand, and your healing power. We struggle with all kinds of pain and know that if we ask you to heal us, you will. Lord Jesus, we love you, thank you, and ask for your healing upon this land and your people. IN your name, Amen.
