3:209 – For Every Season

Setting

Today was a long hard day. Physically demanding with getting new to me furniture, mentally draining by changing my whole office (that goes to my anxiety), and emotionally draining due to family loss on the horizon. While I”m not going into details today, I’m just drained. I know it’s not about me and others around me are equally drained. 

Life always has good and bad. As they say for every season, turn turn turn. No matter what season you are in, God is there. Some times, it’s easy to see him. Other times, it’s much more challenging. But he is always there for us. 

Scripture

• Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 – For everything there is a season,
  a time for every activity under heaven.
  A time to be born and a time to die.
  A time to plant and a time to harvest.
  A time to kill and a time to heal.
  A time to tear down and a time to build up.
  A time to cry and a time to laugh.
  A time to grieve and a time to dance.
  A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones.
  A time to embrace and a time to turn away.
  A time to search and a time to quit searching.
  A time to keep and a time to throw away.
  A time to tear and a time to mend.
  A time to be quiet and a time to speak.
  A time to love and a time to hate.
  A time for war and a time for peace.
• Nahum 1:7 – The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
• Joshua 1:5 – No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you.

Reflection

There is a time and place for everything.  A good friend of mine used to say, “Nothing too good or too bad, lasts too long”. This is just a really rough day. I know while this may be a down season, the Lord is with us and will not forsake us. He will give us peace and comfort. 

No matter the season, good or bad, God is with us. He was there before us, he is there with us, and will never leave us. No matter the hardships, he is there. 

So while today has been rough and there will be rough days ahead, we are loved. God has not nor will he ever forsake us.

Challenge

Take a minute to look at the season you are in. Is it an up season or a down one? Remember that there is a time for every season. Know that God is with you and will carry you from this season into the next. 

Prayer

Lord God, please be with my family during this struggling time. Help us to know that you will never leave us, you will uphold your promises, and you will grant us peace. We thank you for your love, forgiveness, and protection no matter the season. In your name, Amen.
