3:123 – Dividing For Coverage
#faithbites #faithjourney dividing
Have I confused you by the title? Normally we talk about multiplying for strength and to have strength in numbers. How can dividing give coverage?
I was doing some gardening and was going to buy new plants when friends said to just divide the plants. After that they will grow and spread. I had never done that before and thought it would be hard. But lo and behold, I divided 2 large day lillies into 9. No money spent and my garden is filled.
While we are in quarantine, don’t think of the church as empty we are divided into small groups and deployed to spread the word. Sure, it’s different, but with a little TLC these new sprouts will grow new strong foundations in Christ.
Scripture
- 2 Corinthians 9:6 – The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
- 2 Corinthians 9:10 – He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness
Reflection
We need to show bountifully. We have the opportunity to go out and sow seeds in new places with new people.it feels different, it feels weird, and we may be weaker. The truth is we are a deployed church. Our seedlings are going to grow.
So, go out and enjoy this beautiful day.ale an impact. Know that God has a plan. Use this division to multiple his people.
Challenge
Are you dividing or multiplying His kingdom? Take this opportunity to talk to your neighbors. Share with someone you work with. You never know what seeds will take and how this division will multiply his Kingdom.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, you show us in nature that sometimes dividing is needed to grow into the future. Help us as we are deployed. Let us plant new seeds and new connections during this time. It may feel like we are weak when separated, but you are strong and never leave us. We thank you for this clarity and love you. In your name, Amen.
