Jan 26 – Do The Work. The Work's Already Been Done

3:26 – Do The Work. The Work’s Already Been Done.

#faithbites #faithjourney work

I wish just one night that we could get through home work without tears or yelling. It would be so simple if they jist did the work. It literally takes 10-20 minutes to do but with fighting and drawing it out, it takes hours. Ain’t no body have time for that.

You may be wondering why I’m talking about doing work in #faithbites if the work has already been done. This is true. The work for our salvation has been done and set in stone. We don’t have to do anything else to earn it.

The work we do have to do is to be more Christ-like. It takes effort to succeed in life. It isnt easy to take Jesus’s yoke. (Matthew 11:29-30). But through practice and hard work we will get there.

Scripture
  • In all toil there is profit, but mere talk tends only to poverty. – Proverbs 14:23
  • For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. – 2 Thessalonians 3:10-12
Reflection

There it is, just do the work. Don’t work, don’t eat. Can’t follow through, no rewards. This doesn’t mean not to feed those who can’t work.

We all have stuff to do. We just need to do it. When we are active and working theough God’s plan we have much less time for temptation and doubt.

For my kids, when the homework is finally done or the figured sometjing new out, there is a giant relief. When we as adults accomplish something, that same sense is there. We just need to trust in God, put away the excuses, and just do it.

Challenge

Is there something you are procrastinating on? Guess what? It won’t get done without the work. Male a plan, set up a timer and schedule, and just do it.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, we know that you’ve done the work to reunite us with our Father. Help us to live the best life on Earth we can. Give us the strength, determination, and support to get it done. Push away our excuses and let us be your loyal servants working the plan. In your humble name, Amen.
