2:331 – One Degree Changes A Path

A couple of days ago, I wrote about God sending Jim into my life. Then I remembered that God sent another Jim into my life 22 years ago. That Jim, gave me a job that changed my path for ever. I never realized it until I thought about it. Never underestimate what a one degree change in your life means for your future.

God puts people and situations in your life to change your path. You may not see how that one degree matters until many years down the road.

Scripture

• The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. – Proverbs 16:9
• Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6

Reflection

We know what we want, God knows what we need. God answers our prayers in his own time, by his own will, in his own way. He make plans and often God has other plans. The funny thing is, when you look bad 20 years or so, you see you got just what you needed.

The road may have been rocky, and at times still will be, but it led you to where you are now. Have faith in the Lord.

Charge

Take a look at your life. Follow your life back. Is there something unexpected that happened that made you who you are? That is how God works. Look back at those events, no matter how hard, and realize that you are stronger and who you are because of that event.

Prayer

Lord, you work in mysterious ways. We may have hurt, anger, and fear when things dont go our way. Help us to realize that those events give us strength, direction, and courage to be who you want us to become. We love you and put our faith into you and you alone. Amen
