2:328 – Differentiated Faith Journey

#faithbites #faithjourney #RoadToEdD Differentiated

This weekend was a writing weekend for me. It was time to buckle down and work on my dissertation. My specific area of interested is differentiated learning or how you change the content, process, product, or learning environment to match students needs and readiness. In all the months and years studying this, I never linked it to my faith journey.

Everyone comes to the cross in different ways. Some like me, go from the Star to the Cross. Others are born and raised in the church. Some find God in the strangest of places. The thing is, it doesnt matter how or where or why you found God. You found him in a way that was right for you. It will be different than the way others found him. We all have differentiated faith journeys and that’s ok. God wants a special relationship with all of his children.

Scripture
  • And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6
  • As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. – 1 Corinthians 12:20
Reflection

It’s been a long weekend so we’ll keep it short tonight. God made us all unique. One body, many parts. Likewise how we come to our faith and our relationship with God will be different. That’s ok.

Our difference makes us strong. There is no right or wrong way to find God. For me, he’s been there since birth, my relationship has just changed over the years.

God wants a relationship with his children. We should support each other as one body.

Challenge

Is your faith differentiated from others? Are you worried that you didn’t grow up in the church or have the same path? Don’t worry. God made us unique. Just love God and love people. He made you to have a personalized relationship with Jesus.

Prayer

Almighty God, thank you for making us different. Thank you for reaffirming that it doesnt matter how we got to you, just that we are with you through Christ. Help us to not look down on others who’s paths are different from ours. Rather, give us the strength to support them in their relationship with you. In your powerful name, Amen.
