July 23 – Left Behind But Never Alone
205 – Left Behind But Never Alone

#FaithBites #FaithJourney Left

For most people, being left behind is a primal fear. You were forgotten, you are alone, you are vulnerable, and afraid. You don’t know if someone will come for you, help or hurt you or what to do next.

Tonight, I was helping with vacation Bible School. I was helping the young boys use the wash room, when one of the teenagers helping came and got me because they had a ‘lost’ child. A young boy in the girls washroom trying to do his business. He was crying unknown, and upset. I talked him through it. We found out his name. He said he wanted his mommy. I told him he was safe, he was loved, and we would get him to his class.we was sniffling, but he held my hand and we walked to find his class. As soon as he saw them, he was happy, relieved and went to play.

We all know he was never in danger and  nothing would happen to him. But to a young child, feeling alone, the fear sets in, and everything can be your doom.

Life is like that as an adult. We feel alone at times. There is no one out there, no one to tell us everything will be ok. No one to hold your hand and lead you on your path.

The key is, we are never alone. We have our God watching us all our days off our lives.

Scripture about Being Left Alone
  • and call on me in the day of trouble;
    I will deliver you, and you will honor me.” – Psalm 50:14
  • Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you – Duetoronomy 3:16
Reflection

The Lord our God is always there for us. We should be strong and courageous. Even when we are not, he is will is. He will never foresake us or leave us. At the same time, he is waiting for us to call out. To pray, ask, and consult him for help.
Like that boy who was crying,we cryout. Also like that boy, there were people outside listening and getting help for him. While I was that hand for him, God is that hand for us.

We just.jeed to remember we are never alone.

Charge

When you feel sad, alone, or forgotten, know you are not alone.

When you feel left behind, know you are always included in God’s family. Take five minutes to call out to him, and he will help you.

I will continue to call out with the help for God.
