3:219 – Keeping It Simple
#faithbites #faithjourney simple
Setting
My tank is empty today. Work was challenging, and then all the daily factors of life make me just tired. Not mad or upset, just tired. I was trying to think about what to write for today’s #faithbites but I kept coming up blank. Then it hit me, just keep it simple. Let God decide and talk through me.
So today’s message is just about keeping it simple. Someone once said if you take away all the adjectives in speech you get the truth. So without further ado.
Scripture
- Matthew 6:33 – But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
- 1 Corinthians 14:33a For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.
- Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Reflection
Let’s keep it simple. God is good. He is the one true God who sent Jesus to redeem us. He loves us, he wants us to succeed and to be with him. God isn’t trying to confuse us or make us upset or indecisive. He wants us to be in peace.
So tonight, just let it go. Tomorrow will be a new day. Tonight, rest in God’s grace knowing you are a loved, honored, and wanted child of God. That’s it. Simple, easy. Don’t try to overcomplicate it.
Have a blessed evening.
Challenge
No challenge today unless not worrying is a challenge. (Heck it is for me). Just be still and know that God will help you through the challenges.
Prayer
Father God, we often complicate your word, your world, and your direction. Help us to follow you and keep it simple. You give us simple commandments and simple words. We put ourselves into it and try to put our spin on it. Help us to just let it go, love you, and know it will be all ok according to your time, your will, and your way. We honor you and love you, Amen.
