April 5 – People, Like God, Are Everywhere.

2:95 – People, Like God, Are Everywhere.

#faithbjtes #faithjourney people

I was in physical therapy again for my knee today. It was a session like any other, until my therapist and I started talking about church and religion. U had mentioned my faith before, but this was the first time she really opened up to me about her faith. She talked about how her church solution from another church, how there services are, the difficulties and politics that many churches face, and the overall desire to spread the word to underserved people.

This is what we are meant to do. Talk about our faith, our church, and how we can serve God. These opportunities present themselves everyday, we just need to be open to them, and take them.

What I truly loved about the conversation was we weren’t trying to change each other’s views but rather share how we serve God and our role in his plan. It was very cathartic, especially since she was making me work out under pressure on my leg. Ha.

Scripture

  • Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the people – 1 Chronicles 16:8
  • And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, Save yourselves from this crooked generation. – Acts 2:40
  • How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? – Romans 10:14

Reflection

How indeed will people call upon the Lord if they don’t know him? How will they believe if they don’t hear your story? We need to shout his praises and how he works in our lives.

We shouldn’t be afraid of how someone will take our faith. When we are open and honest, God’s words flow through us and save us from “this crooked generation”.

I don’t know if my PT had the same sense I did today or took away from our conversation. But I do know this is a new connection in Christ and someone I can openly and honestly share my #faithjourney with.

Are you making those connections?

Charge

When was the last time you opened up to someone new about your faith? Have you been wanting to fully share yourself with someone? Your faith just a big part of who you are. If this feels intimidating, you aren’t alone. You don’t have to pour your heart out on day 1. Start with something as simple as God Bless. You could also say you are going to church this weekend. You’re going be surprised how the conversation opens.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for the people you put in our lives. Help us to recognize that you out them there and we can share our stories with them. Give us the confidence and the words to always share how you are active in our lives. Thank you for all these things and more. In your name, Amen.
