4/9 – Pain drains spoons
5:99 – Pain drains spoons

#faithbites #faithjourney drains

Intro

I’ve shared spoon theory before. The way of explaining a chronic condition and how everything takes energy that you may not have. This weekend has been an extremely painful weekend. I’d had finally gotten used to knowing how many spoons I had each day to spend. This weekend upended that by massively reducing the number of spoons I had. Pain drains spoons. I will improve and be ok.

Questions
  • When the day drains your reserves, what do you do?
  • How can you use the draining to your advantage?
  • What does God tell us about pain and regeneration?
Scripture
  • Isaiah 40:29 – He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
  • Matthew 11:28-30 – Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
  • 1 Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful;  he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Reflection

Pain sucks. Trials suck. Being drained of spoons suck. But God is love. He never gives us more than we can handle even though it’s tough. He shows us that we can lean on Jesus for support. God is always powerful in how he works in our lives. I’ve read the first Corinthians verse several time and thought about it because nothing I have is unconnon to God. What I did see what the endures parts. We endure. THROUGH Christ we endure and have everlasting life.

As we close, remember that even when life drains our Spoons, Jesus restores them.

Prayer

Lord God, it’s been a painful weekend and a long three years. We pray for healing for all those in pain, no matter the reason. Help us heal. Lord, we also pray that you help us when something unexpected comes up and drains our energy. We look to you for energy, love, and support. Amen.
