5:28 – Getting Back To Normal? No Thanks
#faithbites #faithjourney getting
Throughout the pandemic, people have said they are looking forward to getting back to normal. I understand the desire to get back to familiar but is what we had what we really want? As I’m trying to get over COVID, I’ve been looking forward to getting back to work to life before. What I realized today, is I don’t want that. I had too many things that I was just doing to do it. While I like what I’m doing, some of the things just take up space and are there for others and not me. Not being selfish, just focusing.
- Are you looking forward to getting back to normal?
- What does normal mean to you?
- What things in your life are you doing that don’t bring you or God joy?
- Colossians 3:2 – Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth
- Romans 8:5 – For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
Sometimes wwhen I write #faithbites, I feel like a broken record. I keep saying to focus on God and his plan, then we will never fail. When you break it down, it truly is that simple. Listen to God, follow him, and focus.
The hardest thing in life is knowing when we are focusing on things of the flesh or things of God. Think of this as another God or Kairos moment. Every day is a chance to focus on God’s word and his plan for us.
What does this mean? First, we need to see what are those core things that we need to do for God. Then we need to clear out those things don’t work. This doesn’t mean these things are bad or not important but. May not be where you need to be on focus right now. Take it Ken’s tep at a time.
As we close, remember getting back to normal shouldn’t be the goal. Getting to a place where we are in balance is..
Lord God, we pray for cintinued healing for those who are sick.. Lord, we have so many things going on and so many people telling us we shoild be getting back to normal. You are telling us that maybe that normal wasn’t working and we need to focus more on you. Help us to clear the clutter, grow, and always focus on you. In your name, Amen.
