March 1 – This FaithBite is the Same As All The Other FaithBites

2:60 – This FaithBite is The Same As All The Other Faithbites

#faithbites #faithjourney faithbites

When I accepted the challenge to share scripture, which eventually turned into faithbites, my wife asked me if I would have enough ideas to make it through the year. I told her of course I did.

Flash forward over a year and while not two #faithbites are word for word the same, they are all the same. At first, I thought I was failing if I couldn’t come up with new ideas, but then Pastor Wirsing reminded me that we don’t go to church to learn something new. We go to be reminded of what we forget. We go to be reminded of God’s power and Grace, Jesus’s death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit spreading faith in us, and our ultimate forgiveness and salvation. While we use different passages and different stories to share this, the message is eternal as is the Lord.

Scripture

  • Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. – Psalm 90:2
  • Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. – Hebrews 13:8
  • Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. – James 1:17

Reflection

In the beginning there was the word and the Word was with God (John 1:1). From the Old Testament to the New Testament to today, Jesus do sent change. Our understanding of him may as we grow in our #faithjourney but he never changes.

He loves us, we are his children, Jesus died for our sins, he forgives us, and if we have faith then we are saved.

So I guess if that’s the case, then #faithbites might be a bit repetitive on the overall message, but I hope that the different stories and experiences we share here, help you on your #faithjourney

Charge

When you go to church or open the Bible a you looking for something new? If you are new to the faith, then that makes sense. If you aren’t, remember that the Lord and his word are eternal. We need the repetition. When you hear his word, try to remember it’s the same message, but find new ways to implement it in your life

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for being our rock and never changing. In a world where we don’t know what tomorrow will bring, it’s nice to know you are already there and you are the same. Give us the ability to listen and be reminded of your word daily then use it to make impactful changes in our world. In your heavenly name, Amen.
