4:341 – I Should’ve Asked Someone
#faithbites #faithjourney asked
Setting
Tonight I ordered pizza for my youngest and I. I ordered a large pizza with pepperoni on one side and cheese sauce for the breadsticks. When the order was delivered, there was no cheese aauce, and pepperoni all over the pizza. I looked at the reciept to make sure I didnt make a mistale and it was clear on there. When I called, the perspn who made the pizza, said he wasnt sure if I wanted it just on the left side or the whole pizza. (It did say custom pizza, left side add pepperoni). Then he said, I should’ve asked someone for help as I didnt understand.
How many times on our lives, would things be better if we just asked someone first. Not necessarily for help but eveb for clarification? God provides that clarification
Today’s Questions: When do you asl god for clarification before starting something or making a decision? Do you ever think it’s not worth God’s tome because your problem is too small to asl for help? Do you ever think that you should just do it kn your own?
Scripture
- Amos 3:7 – “For the Lord God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.
- 1 Corinthians 14:33 – For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.
Reflection
As I stand here, waitong for the pizza to be fixed, Im trying to turn it over to God. The employee said it would be ready in 10 minutes and I had to come get it. I got here and he was on a smoke break and hadnt started the pizza yet. His manager said this was the worst tome for the break. Again, a place where he should’ve asked for clarification first.
God isnt a God of confusion. He wants to be clear and to help us in all we do. He loves us and is always ready to hear from us. All we need to do is ask. We should be to proud to asl for help ir clarification. There aren’t any bonus points awarded for doing it alone. In faith, the saying “its better to beg forgiveness than ask permission”, doesnt hold. Ask for clarification!
As we close, remember that it’s ok to ask for help. God is able, willing, and ready to provide it.
Prayer
Father God, thabk you being ready to help us when we need it. We know there are many times when we should’ve asked for help or clarification and we didn’t. Please forgive us. We pray that you will remind us to seek your guidance in faith, and asl those around us for help and clarification. Help us change the world into one that supports and love, rather than keeps score. We pray this in your name, Amen.
