4:333 – Not Perfect AND Still Majestic!
#faithbites #faithjourney Majestic
Setting
Let’s face it, are any of us really in the physical shape we want to be? How bout the mental shape we want to be? Has the world’s version of what a perfect body, mind, or spirit got you down? It happens to me quite a bit. Then the other day, this picture crossed my Facebook feed. I laughed at it, shared it, and realized that I am Majestic!. It’s not because of anything I do or have doner, but because God made me this way. He loves us, made us in his image, and even gave his son to die for us because we are his chosen. If that doesn’t make you majestic, I don’t know what does.
Today’s Questions: What do you do when you are feeling less than majestic? How can we use God’s love to turn off the images and preconceived notions of the world and focus on being the people he wants us to be?
Scripture
- 1 John 4:9-11 – 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
- Romans 5:8 – 8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- Psalm 139:14 – I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
- 1 John 4:12 – No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
- Romans 12:2 – 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Reflection
Yes, you are magnificent, majestic, and loved. Why? Because God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son (John3:16). That’s why. Yes, you are tempted by sin and fall, but never fail. Yes, you make mistakes but are forgiven by the love of Christ. The world wants us to believe that we are bad, fat, ugly, stupid, weak, poor, unwanted, unloved, and worthless. We are none of those things. God gave us an identity as his Child. Jesus died for us to make sure we would have everlasting life. Why would God and Jesus do that if we weren’t majestic and loved? Ok, Yes, only God is truly majestic, but I think you get the point. You are loved, appreciated, wanted, and have a purpose. This is God’s word!
As we close, remember that you are an awesome, blessed, cherished, and supported, child of God. Don’t let anyone take the Sparkle that God has given you.
Prayer
Father God, thank you. We have no words to express the love that you have for us. You tell us that we are cherished, loved, wanted, and have purpose. We pray that we always listen to your voice and not the voice of the world telling us otherwise. Help us to echo your love to all. The world needs that love everywhere. We pray this in your great name, Amen.
