November 6 – Normal Doesn’t Exist. Neither Does Average

4:310 – Normal Doesn’t Exist. Neither Does Averagd

#faithbites #faithjourney average

Setting

i was thinking about my life and realized, I am not normal and Ive neber been average. When I look at docial media or how people oives their lives, it doesnt seem close to the way I’m living my life. I know God gave us unique gifts, but it still didnt add up. Until I did the math.

Let’s say you have 4 people and we will give tjem values of 2,4,6, and 8. Their average value is 5. (2+4+6+8)/4. So we would say 5 is average, but not one single person is a 5. So when we think about being average, know that it doesnt exist. Lets instead look to become who God created us to be.

Today’s Questions: Why do you compare yourself to what’s normal? If God made us unique, what is common sejse or what shoild we expect when living in a community?

Scripture
  • Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
  • Philippians 2:5 – In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus
Reflection

The world wants us to “keep up with the Joneses'”, fit in, be average, and fit in. What Jesus tells us it to not comform to the world. We are made strong and unique in His image. We need to jave the same mindset of Christ. Remember, Jesus broke with tradition when he spread his teachings of peace, love, and salvation. He definitely wasn’t an average teacher.

Let us throw out the words average and normal when living life is concerned. Let us instead, try to live the life God wants us to live, by being the best versions of ourselves that we can be.

Prayer

Father in Heaven, you tell us to be strong and courageous. Often we are timid, weak, and just want to be normal and average. You didnt make us to be average as that doesn’t exist.

We pray that you help us be strong and know that we dont jave to fit in to be following your word. Remind us that the world gives us a false illusion and you want us to be stronger, better, and not conform. In your name, Amen.
