August 5 – Not By Might, by Spirit
4:217 – Not By Might, By Spirit

#faithbites #faithjourney might

Setting

just a short #faithbites today. The verse of today has inspired me. Just as Jesus was not the Messiah the Jewish people were expecting, we as Christians are not going to conquer the world by might.

jesus wasn’t a warrior king with an army. He didn’t show his power as a warrior, rather he came with love, compassion, and care. We are called to love with the Spirit and not try to be conquers.

Today’s Questions: How do you spread God’s word? What do you use instead of might to succeed?

Scripture

Zechariah 4:5-6 – He answered, “Do you not know what these are?” “No, my lord,” I replied.6 So he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.

Reflection

We are called to love one another. Loving isn’t done with might, harsh words, or anger. Love is sacrifice, helping, and sharing God’s love. We can correct with a spirit of love and kindness. That is how we succeed according to God’s word.

As we close, remember that God will conquer all. All we need to do is show love and kindness. Keep God centered and no might is needed.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, today we ask for you to help us share you through your spirit and not through moght. Our anger and harsh words will never help people find you. Turn us into people who follow your word always and not people who try to force conversion. We also know that we might not be the best messenger, and if that’s the case, let that person find the right messenger to lead them to you. In your name, we pray, Amen.
