4:70 – All Sins Are Bad. Confess and Be Healed
#faithbites #faithjourney confess
Setting
Through #faithbites, my social media presence, and in person, I often confess my sins. I know that I am broken, and my sins, are sins no matter who I am, what party I’m part of or anything.
We are told to confess our sins to each other an be healed. Doing wrong shouldn’t a political issue. Wrong is wrong. Sometimes, I get upset, another sin, when my motivations are questions or the “well, when your guy did it” statements.
We need to focus on following Christ, regardless of who is in political power, what our own goals and aspirations are, and blaming each other.
Today’s questions: Have you ever called someone out on a sin that you committed? Have you prayed for someone who has sinned and it wasn’t against you? How can we, as followers of Christ, confess our sins and heal?
Scripture
James 5:16 – Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
Reflection
Today’s reflection is simple, let us be open, honest, and confess our sins to one another. Let us not judge sins by political party, racial group, socio-economkc status or anything else.
We are all broken, sinners. We all make mistakes. Yes, there are mitigating circumstances that we need to look at to help improve situations for people. There are situations that make breaking the law more common place but still not right.
As we close, I know this may be confusing and open to interpretation. The bottom line message that Jeuss tells us is we should confess to one another, open our hearts in prayer, and help one another heal through Christ.
Prayer
Father God, help us to be open and honest with one another. Let us confess our sins to you for forgiveness. We ask that you help us recognize our sins as well as the sins of others. Let us be open, honest, and nonjudgmental. We know you forgive all sins and we thank you for that. In your name, we pray, Amen.
