3:340 – Never Give Up!
#faithbites #faithjourney never
Setting
This has been a rough week. Last night, we began planning for the end of life for a relative. We thought today would be the end. Then she woke up, started talking, and was like nothing happened. I have no idea how that happened except to say, God. Seriously, we were talking DNRs, cremation, and assets, and today, she seems ok. Who knows. All I can say is we never gave up and just kept praying.
Miracles do happen. Even little miracles that change our lives by just a degree or two have drastic effects over our lifetime. We just never know.
If God created the universe in just 6 days, we clearly can help us and solve any problem we have. It is never too late to turn it to Jesus, to ask forgiveness, and see his wonders in action.
Scripture
- James 5:19-20 – My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, 20 you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back from wandering will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins.
- Luke 23:40-43 – 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” 43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Reflection
From the criminal on the cross with Jesus to those who are in the family that sin to those who have never heard of him, it is never too late. It’s not to late for us to be forgiven by Christ or to have him work a miracle.
I have no idea on how this turnaround from death’s door to feeling fine happened in a matter of hours. We prayed, hoped for the best, and it turned around. God turned it around.
As you close out your day today, remember all things are possible through Christ Jesus. Don’t think you are too far to be redeemed or any situation is too far to be redeemed. He can redeem it all.
Challenge
This is a hard one. When you think it’s too late, don’t give up. Trust in the Lord. He can make all things possible. Just have faith.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for your miracle today. Be with my mum and help her to continue to heal. Put a hedge of protection around her. Be with the care staff at the hospital and the rehab center. Lord, help all of your children who think they are too far gone to be saved or this situation it too terrible and it can’t be redeemed. You are the all and all. Let our faith be strong always. In your name, we pray, Amen.
