Oct 14 – Take Away To Win
3:288 – Take Away To Win

#faithbites #faithjourney away

Setting

Have you ever had something taken away from you that you were passionate about? Maybe there was a project or task that you loved doing and now someone else is responsible for it.

It hurts to see that happen. You have put time and energy into it and now it’s taken away. Here’s a new thought.

Maybe it’s not that you are losing something but God is pruning your branch to allow you to produce even more fruit. That by taking away this task you are now freed up to take on more challenging or more appropriate to your skills tasks that God wants you to do. Try to focus on what lays ahead instead of what was taken away. God is making room.

Scripture
  • Leviticus 26:10 – You will have such a surplus of crops that you will need to clear out the old grain to make room for the new harvest!
Reflection

Really simple tonight. All you need to do is get rid of the old grain as you no longer need it. God has promised a surplus beyond all your dreams through Jesus. To make room, let the old go.

Sure, it’s hard to pass on something that you’ve worked hard on. But you are now in a position for new things, that whole scary and unknown, God is putting you in that position as you are ready. Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. (Philippians 4:13)

Challenge

Is there something that you are holding onto that it’s time to give us? Was a change made at work and now you are doing something new? Try to focus on the new opportunities and not the loss. You don’t need the old grain as you have new grain.

Prayer

Father God, help us to be content in our lot. You make changes for us and have plans for us to move forward. Help us to see that this is for good and not evil.

You want us to succeed and grow. Growth comes with change. With something seems to be taken away, you are giving us much much more.

Thank you, Lord. Amen.
