Oct 9 – Completing Your Goals
3:283 – Completing Your Goals

#faithbites #faithjourney completing #RoadToEdD

Setting

Today I completed a major milestone in my quest to earn my EdD, I submitted the first draft of my complete dissertation. This has been a long work and a long time coming. For those playing at home, I started classwork I’m the fall of 2016. While I still have peer review, revisions, and defense, this goal is almost done.

Goals are a great thing to keep us motivated. It is a way that we can strive to be better people and better servants of God.

Are you making and keeping your goals?

Scripture
  • Phillippians 3:13-14 – Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
  • Proverbs 21:5 – The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.
  • 2 Chronicles 15:7 – But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded
Reflection

We are challenged to make goals and keep going. When we plan, we will have abundance. Just as a farmer can’t reap the harvest if they don’t sow, we can progress if we don’t make plans for the future.

Let God help you make plans and set goals. You will be rewarded. Our prize is Christ and everlasting life.

These goals don’t have to be huge massive goals, just steps towards the future. Each time you complete one, you move closer.

I’m close to completing a six year goal of completing my Doctorate of Education. It’s been hard, stressful, but I am almost there. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without God and him strengthening me.

How it’s time for you. Are you making and completing your goals?

Challenge

What goals do you have? Are you asking God for guidance as you make plans? He will support you through it.

Prayer

Father God, we know that you have plans for us. Help us to know those plans and make goals to move forward. We know you reward those who work hard and keep busy. Help us to complete the goals and plans you have for us. In your name, Amen.
