Setting

On January 1, 2018, I started sharing scripture on a dialy basis. If I did the math right, that means today is 1000 days later. Yes, for 1000 days traight except for Janaury 4 2018 and then I did two on the 5th, I have been writing #faithbites. I don’t know baout you, but I don’t think I’ve done anything for 1000 days straight. This has bene a labor of love, exploration and adventure. I never know where the Holy Spirit is going to lead me. If you would have askedm e back on January 1, 2018 how logn I would be posting scriptures on a regular basis, I would have never guessed this long. Some days are much easier than others.

The bottom line is it’s not about me. In the paragraph above, I used the word “I” 9 times. #Faithbites isn’t about me. It’s about sharing the love, healing, redemeption, and forgiveness power of Jesus Christ. Imagine if there was no I but all Christ. What would people see? When they look at me do they see Jesus?

Scripture

• Hebrews 12:12 – Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
• John 10:28 – 30 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.
• Romans 10:17 – So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Reflection

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I try to share my #faithjourney through His words as reflected in my life. My life may be unique but my trials and tribulations are not. (1 Corinthians 12:13). These past 1000 years have seen a dramatic shift in our nation and in me personally, but not in God.

God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. He will never change. What will change is how we chose to listen to him, follow him, and share his stories.

My hope is that through #faithbites, you have learned more of scripture, more about me, and most important, have become closer to Jesus Christ.

Who knows what the next 1000 days will be. I do know that Jesus will be by my side and here for all of us until the very end of the age.

Challenge

Can you make a commitment right here, right now, to share Jesus. It doesn’t have to be a 1000 day commitment or anything. Just a promise to God to share His word and His stories. Make it specific if you want. Reach out. Not only will you becoming stronger in knowing God, you will also help others know him.

Prayer

Father God, I had no idea that I would still be doing this 1000 days later. Thank you for your invitation and challenge. Holy Spirit, thank you for giving me words to share and the spirit to share my story with others. Please help my words to be your words. Let me share what you have done in my life and through me to help others. Let me failures and successes be inspirations to all. We can’t do this without you, Jesus. In your name, Amen.
