3:145 – Are You Seeing The Full Picture?
#faithbites #faithjourney picture
Have you ever been to a parade? Throngs of people looking at the floats, bands, and entries. When you are an adult, you can look around and see where the parade is coming from and where it is going. When you are young, you have a hard time seeing anything. Many of us have either experienced it or done it, where we have lifted up a child and put them on our shoulders so they can see everything. They no longer worry what is coming or going, but can see everything. Did the parade change? Nope, it was and is the same, you can just see the whole picture now. (A big thanks to Pastor Bahn for that illustration).
I often get mad because things don’t go my way. Often, I question as I can’t see what God is planning. I know he’s planning something and I have faith, but sometimes I wish he would just lay it out. Does that mean his plan was wrong or he is changing his plan? No. From my viewpoint, I just can’t see the full picutre.
Scripture
- Numbers 23:19 – God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?
- Jeremiah 29:11-14 – For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
- Revelation 1:8 – “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Reflection
God never changes. His plan never changes. We just lack the picture. God is always honest, he has a plan for us, and he will fulfill everything he has promised. When there are bad things in our lives, it’s not because God wants to harm us. It’s because of Sin in the world. But no matter what happens, God has his door open and welcomes us. He was there in the beginning and will be there in the end.
When you are standing behind a crowd of people and can’t see the parade route it is hard. You want to know what is coming and what has passed. You may even think people are getting in your way on purpose. With God, we just have to ask, have faith, and listen. He will lift you up on his shoulders so you can see that the plans for you are for welfare and not evil, to give us a future and hope.
Challenge
Can you see the whole picture? Are you seeking answers. Know that God wants you to see what he has planned. Take a step back to clear your vision. Ask to be lifted up to see the full route. He will answer.
Prayer
Lord, we know you want the best for us. You have created a master plan and we all have a part in it. Help us to see the picture you are creating. Let us know that you will protect us, help us, and be with us as we walk through this life. Give us the patience to know when the days are cloudy, you will blow them out of our eyes to help us see. In your name, Amen.
