3:103 – Empty is Good
#faithbites #faithjourney #holyweek #easter #emptytomb empty
Happy Easter, Everybody. He is Risen. He is Risen, Indeed. Alleluia
In our life, empty is usually a bad thing. The gas tank is empty. The fridge is empty. My bank account is empty. The toliet paper roll is empty. (Sorry, a little COVID-19 joke). We don’t like empty, we want full.
Easter reminds us that one empty is good. Jesus’s tomb was empty. Our Lord, after dying for our sins, was risen from the dead.
He died once, so we can live forever. That is definitely something to Raise a Hallelujah for.
Scripture
- And he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here. See the place where they laid him. – Mark 16:6
- We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. – Romans 6:4-5
- Having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead. – Colossians 2:12
Reflection
Our God was born as man, lived, spread love and forgiveness, was crucified and died. If the story ended there, it would be a good story. But he rose from the dead, showcasing life everlasting through him. That makes it a great epic story.
Just as no tomb could hold Him, know tomb can hold us. We who believe have had our sins cleanses by His Blood and have everlasting life.
We will not rot, our tombs will be empty. Alleluia. He is Risen.
Challenge
Do you truly believe in life everlasting? If so, give thanks to God for keeping his promise in the ancient prophecies. He always keeps his word. And we will be with him through Christ Jesus.
Prayer
Lord God, you are awesome. You gave us your son to life as us and die as a criminal even though he did no wrong. Then you raised him from the dead. We thank you for his resurrection power. The power that will make our tombs empty and give us life with you forever. Amen.
