2:361 – Too Much Excitement
#faithbites #faithjourney Excitement
Tonight I was on a video chat with my brother in California. Of course my kids wanted in in the action. My youngest was literally jumping on the bed, screaming, laughing, jumping on me, and just being crazy. She was excited to talk to her uncle and just be nutty.
This was just a little too much excitement for my tastes. I couldn’t hear my brother or talk but it was ok.
The one thing we could never be too excited about is Jesus. His Good News of salvation, forgiveness, and resurrection is something th aww t deserves all the excitement we can give and more.
Scripture
- Jethro rejoiced over all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, in delivering them from the hand of the Egyptians. – Exodus 18:9
- So the LORD God appointed a plant and it grew up over Jonah to be a shade over his head to deliver him from his discomfort. And Jonah was extremely happy about the plant. – Jonah 4:6
- Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, – Acts 2:46
Reflection
From the beginning of the Bible until the end, people rejoice at God’s works. From deliverance out of the desert to pllants to food to sacrifice, God has done wondrous things for us. We should make a joyful noise.
There is no reason not to share his greatness and be excited for his return. For when earth is like heaven.
My kids on the been ither hand need to temper their excutment sometimes, but when it comes to sharing their faith, the more the better.
Challenge
Shout to the Lord. Be excited about your faith. Praise God’s presence kn your life. You don’t need to be sorry for sharing the Good News or being filled with excitement.
Prayer
