2:337 – The Message Of The Bible Is Love

People say the Bible preaches hate. The bible says slavery is good. Scripture says genocide is needed. Sinners should be cast out. Walls should be built.

Those who say that don’t understand the entire story. The Bible says God made everything, he’s stupidly in love with us, he knows we will screw up, he gives us unlimited chances to be forgiven, and wants us to be with him. The main message of the Bible, as a whole is about love, family, and salvation. Those who use it to divide, dont understand our father loves us.

Scripture

• “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” -2 Timothy 2:15
• In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. – 1 John 4:10
• Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. – 1 John 4:8

Reflection

God is love! We as humans screw up and fall short of the grace of God. We need Jesus to bridge that gap of sin. He died for us. He gives us rules to help us live a better life. Don’t want to listen, God still loves you. Messing up isnt the end. He forgives us over and over. There are actions that God isnt happy with, but you are free to do it. He won’t stop you.

We are to love God and love our neighbor. Everyone is our neighbor. It is hard when we see sin to ignore it as we want the best for everyone. But we need to remember, we shouldn’t judge as we are far from perfect.

For those who are hurting and disagree with me, I will love them and pray for them. Remember the message of the Bible is salvation and love.

Challenge

Use the Word of God as it should be, to love and share him. We need to invite people to the table first, and then challenge them to be better as we all need to grow. Then when they mess up, like we do, we forgive and love them.

Prayer

Lord God, many people are hurting right now. I pray for them. Heal their hearts, open their mind, and give their soul peace. Help your children. To understand the entirety of your word. That we are to love you and all you children.
