2:332 – Giving-Thanks
#faithbites #faithjourney giving-thanks
Today is Thanksgiving in the United States. A day for food, family, football, and relaxation. We my pray over our food and say thanks.
But if we look at it, it’s a time for us to give thanks. Not saying thank you, but giving something. Like you would give a gift, you give thanks. It’s a piece of you given to someone else.
For me, I give thanks to the one who gave everything to me, our Lord. I thank him morning, noon, and night.
Who do you give thanks?
Scripture
- All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. – 2 Corinthians 4:15
- Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. – Psalm 95:2-3
- Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. – Psalm 107:8-9
Reflection
How awesome is our God? He satisfies, fills hunger, and has done everything for our benefit.
I say thanks to he person who gives me a cup of coffee. What level of thanks does our God deserve? He deserves never ending praise and exaltation.
On this Thanksgiving Day, remember who provided everything for us.
Challenge
Stop. Breathe. Take a minute to give thanks to Our Father. Everything we have is from him. We are merely stewards of his world.
Prayer
Dear Lord, thank you for everything you give us. We offer our ultimate love and thanks on this Thanksgiving Day. Though we don’t always say it, we would be nothing without you. We are you grateful for everything you have, do, and will do for us. We pray all these things in Jesus’s Name, Amen.
