Nov 21 – We’re Here To Pump You Up
2:325 – We’re Here To Pump You Up

#faithbites #faithjourney pump

My name is Hans and I am Franz and we’re here to pump you up. Anyone growing up in the 90s watching Saturday Night Live, remembers these guys. Two weightlifters who went around trying to “pump” each other up.

Today, I was “pumped up” by two good friends. Just being told how impressive some of the things I do are. How I am capable of doing what I do with my physical, mental, and live stressors. To me, it is life, but having someone comment on that, is life changing and affirming.

Imagine if we went around pumping each other up instead of tearing each other down.

Scripture
  • Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. – 1 Thessalonians 5:11
  • So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. – Romans 14:19
  • What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. – 1 Corinthians 14:26
Reflection

Some days when I write #faithbites, it takes a while to find the best scripture. Today, the opposite was true. There were plenty of scriptures, in both the old and new testaments about building each other up.

We should look at ways to help and support. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17)

Often in our society, we think if someone gets something or is recognized it’s at our expense. God’s kingdom is limitless, there is more than enough to go around. We don’t need to hold in our praise of others and how they impact our lives.

Let’s reach out and pump each other up with love and truth, without expectation of return.

Now, I want to make sure that others who influence me, know how much they mean.

Challenge

Pump one person up tomorrow. Just tell them what they mean to you.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for friends and family. You put awesome people in our loves to support us and help us. Remind us to always be honest with each other. Gove us the words to pump each other up, rather than tear each other down. Help us to be servants of you and love like you do. Telling someone how much the mean to us is part of this love. We thank you for all your love and grace. In your name, Amen.
