September 2 – Checking In
2:245 – Checking In

#faithbites #faithjourney checking

Have you had someone call you or send you a message out of the blue just to check in on you? How did you feel? If you are like me, then you feel loved. To have someone who doesn’t want anything but to see how you are doing is a great expression of love.

Have you ever sent a message or called someone just to check in? No ulterior motives, no needs, just to say, how are you? It will greatly impact their day.

Our faith shows us to live in peace and fellowship. Part of that is looking beyond the day to day and randomly checking in. When was the last time you checked on someone?

Scripture
  • And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.Luke 6:31
  • Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. – Roman 12:10
  • Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others – Philippians 2:4
Reflection

The golden Rule. Outdo each other in honor. Look towards the interests of others. Not only is this about serving and loving others, it shows that we shouldn’t focus on ourselves but on others.

I love to be loved. I love random acts of kindness towards me. The best way is to pay it forward. A free way to show love, is just checking in on someone.

God always checks in on us, show the love for others, but looking out for them

Charge

Prayer

Loving Father, help us to do the a mole thing of checking in on one another. Help draw us closer to each other by showing care without any need for self. You show your love through your Word and Your son, remind us to emulate that by loving one another. In your name, Amen.
