2:243 – It’s Enough
#faithbites #faithjourney enough
My computer died last week. I tried to fix it but no dice. I’ve been trying to price out a replacement and the price keeps getting higher as I keep finding parts and pieces I want. I want more and more, bit do I need it? I want a gaming computer but I don’t game much. Likewise, I want to future proof it, but do I need to worry about it.
In life, we often want more and more, but do we need it? God gives us enough and we need to be happy with that. Sin and temptation make us not content with what where given. Let’s remember, God gives us enough.
Scripture
- It is not good to eat much honey, Nor is it glory to search out one’s own glory. – Proverbs 25:27
- The sleep of the working man is pleasant, whether he eats little or much; but the full stomach of the rich man does not allow him to sleep. – Ecclesiastes 5:12
- And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19
Reflection
I love icecream, but I know if I eat all I want, I will be sick. A little honey is good, too much of anything is too much. God, gives us what we need. He supplies everything we need. When we try to go beyond that, we have issues.
It’s simple to say, God will provide. It’s hard to say, God has given me enough.
When we turn that over, there is a relief. I will never have enough if I go for it without God. If I listen to God, then I know I will be full on what he want us to.
I’ll get a computer and maybe it’s not the best in the world. It will do what I need it to do. And then if I need more, God will provide that too.
Charge
Know that God will provide. Be happy with what you have and what you are getting. If you have faith, God will always give you what you need.
Prayer
Lord, we want so many things. We often put our want for things above you, our family, and those things you want us to do. Remind us daily, that you give us what we need. That through faith and prayer, you will answer. Your grace, love, and gifts are more than enough. In your heavenly name, Amen.
