2:224 – Setbacks Aren’t Permanent

We’ve all had a time in our lives when he hit a roadblock or a setback. It seems like all forward progress is lost and we are doomed to linger in setback land.

Today, I had a major setback with my doctor not know how to treat me, an d then sending me back to my primary care. This hurt. I was in pain, did my research, and was ready, but no forward progress. I am truly hoping my primary has some answers.

When we face setbacks, we can linger in that place of no forward momentum, or we can chart a course forward. How we chose to move forward is a reflection on our character and our faith.

Scripture

• I can do all this through him who gives me strength. – Philipians 4:13
• We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. – 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

Reflection

Our second first tell us we will face much adversity in our lives. The setbacks will be many and complex. But we are to hold true to the faith and know that we will succeed through Christ, who strengthens us.

What does this mean? It means though I’m ticked at a Doctor giving up, I will keep trying to get healthy and find an answer. It will ask the question, pray for assistance, and know God will lead me where we need to go.

Facing setbacks is hard. It’s a lot easy with Jesus in your corner.

Charge

Are you making progress on your goals? Is there someone or something blocking you from achieving? If soz remember to take it to God. Also remember that God will direct you.

Prayer

Lord, help us as we come to these setbacks in our loves. Help is always available through you, and I’d you are fore us, who can be against us? Help us to us the setbacks not to pull is back but to launch is foreward. In your name, Amen.
