August 6 – You Matter! You Energy!
2:218 – You Matter! You Energy!

#faithbites #faithjourney energy

You Matter! Let me say that again: YOU MATTER. No matter who you are, what you have done, where you are from, YOU MATTER.

Many of the challenges we are facing as a society, come from not talking to each other and not valuing each other. From shootings to political shouting to racism, hatred, and more, it all relates to people not feeling like they belong or even worse they are invisible or cellophane. We can’t solve any of these problems if we don’t love each other.

Jesus loves you no matter what and nothing can separate you from him! (Romans 8:38-39). God chose you to be his (Isaiah 43:1). God chose to sacrifice his son for you (John 3:16).

You are part of his family. He loves you. He loves you so much that you are no longer matter but energy (I know, silly Physics joke). But you are. You are a light to the world. You are loved.

Scripture
  • For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear;   I will help you. – Isaiah 41:13
  • So God created mankind in his own image,
        in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. – Genesis 1:27
  • But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. – 1 Peter 2:9
Reflection

Ok, wait, a second here. God gave up his son for us. He holds our hand when we are fearful. With all the power and limitless opportunities of creation, he made us in his own image. He chose us to be his emissaries, his royal priests.

If that isn’t the epitome of mattering, I don’t know what is. Not only that but you are never alone through Christ (Deuteronomy 31:6; Deuteronomy 31:8; Joshua 1:5; 1 Chronicle 28:20). The list can go one and one and one.

The bottom line is you are loved. You belong. And of course, you matter. Everything you do impact others.

I love you. Jesus loves you. God loves you. Don’t ever think you don’t matter. You are made by God and he loves you.

Charge

No matter what happens, trust in the Lord. You are important, loved, and wanted. Remember that on the hard days you matter. On the good days, you matter.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for choosing us as your children. Help us to always remember that we are yours and we matter. Give us your strength during the hard days when we feel alone and that we don’t belong. Remind us that we belong in your house and you will always have room for us. In your Gracious name, Amen.
