Gods love never fails never gives up and never runs out on me

329 – Does Your Love Ever Run Out?

#faithbites #faithjourney love

I can say that I have loved many people in my life. Some as friends or family, others romantically. I can also tell you that through circumstance or actions, that those bonds aren’t as strong as it was. In some cases, through time and distance, the bonds are broken. I have been cheated on in my previous life, lied to by loved ones, and hurt. I’ve hurt those I love and seen human love run out over and over again.

I have also seen love fail. Friends in abusive relationships, divorce, adultery, backstabbing, and friends not being there when you need them. We have all be hurt, we have all had human love run out on us.

While we are all broken and our love is the same, God’s love is perfect. His never fails, never gives up, never runs out on me. We sang the song “One Thing Remains” by Jesus Culture at Church today. God is eternal and he will never fails us.

Scripture
  • The Lord appeared to him from far away. I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you. – Jeremiah 31:3
  • But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. – Psalm 86:15
  • For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. – Isaiah 54:10
Reflection

Have you felt perfect love? I have felt human love and it feels so good. When that love is gone or runs out, it hurts deep. Since I have found God, I can’t say I have not felt loved by him. I have been challenged for sure, but to say I have lost his love, I can’t imagine it, nor do I want to.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t have loving relationships here on earth. In fact, just the opposite. We should love our God and our neighbors. We should try to emulate God and love as he does. I am a realist and now that I will fail in my love. In some cases, my love has run out. I have seen others love in me run out.

I know that through prayer, I will always be loved by God. He will never forsake me. Earth may be hard to live in, but to live without his love is a place I don’t want to live in.

God has blessed me with so many things and some things like my anxiety that I don’t care for. My life is far from perfect, but to know, even for a second, what his perfect love is, makes it all worth it. My prayer is that everyone can feel a love that never gives us, never runs out, and never fails.

Charge

Has someone given up on you? Have you given up on others? Know that the Lord will never fail on you and will never won’t run out. Take a moment to thank him. Think about how it feels. Try to capture that on a daily basis. Then try to emulate that love in all your relationships.

Lord, help me to always feel your warm embrace. When human love fails, let me know that you are always here for me. Help me to improve all of my earthly relationships by loving as you do. Let my love never run out but if it does, let me be kind to those in my life.
