April 25 – I Love It When A Plan Comes Together

#115of365 #FaithBites #FaithJourney

Today’s lesson is about coincidences or rather how these chance encounters are actually all part of God’s plan. Today, I was working at home to meet a contractor because of the bathroom leaks. He was late and apologized because he had to take his wife to the doctor. I asked if she was ok. He said she has been battling IBS for the past 18 years and had a bad attack. I told him how I had it in the past but it seems to be gone. I talked to him about acupuncture as it worked for me and said it might not be a panacea but it helped me. Later in the day, he asked me if he could have the number of the doctor who worked on me. He said specifically, “Maybe God brought me here, so you could help me get more help for my wife”. I was floored. I found the contact information, printed it and gave it to him. I said it may not work but it helped me get off of heavy narcotics. He said, his wife would be willing to try anything to have more peace and if it worked great. I pray for his wife to get some relief from this terrible disease.

It’s amazing. Not only did I talk to him about this, but the restoration project manager and I talked about what churches we went to, what we liked, and how we are involved. The Lord works in mysterious ways for sure.

“I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted” – Job 42:2

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” – Proverbs 19:21

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33

In previous faithbites, we have talked about prayer and God answering them. He may not answer them when or how you want, but he does. As Job says, the Lord’s purpose will not be thwarted. He has a plan and a way of working with each and everyone one of us. While we may have our own thoughts about how the day or our life will go (I was going to watch TV instead of talking), he puts us in the situations we need to be in. We needed to connect today. Matthew tells us that we seek the Lord first and all things will be given to us. There are no coincidences in who we meet. These are planned by the Lord. If you are open to spread his word, to listen to him, you will have more impact in the world than you ever thought possible.

Are you willing to see God’s wonders in action? Can you see these chance encounters as truly a way to spread his word and his message?

I am willing (with the help of God)
