October 5 – You Are Worthy Enough
4:278 – You Are Worthy Enough

Setting

The Might Thor, Son of Odin, the God of Thunder is an awesome superhero. He wields, Mjollnir, a powerful hammer. The thing about Mjollnir is that only the worrhy can pick it up. Throughout the comics and movies you see other heroes pick it it up to show their worth. Read that again, worth not strength. As I was printing Mjollnir magnets, I thought about worth and who is worthy to pick up the hammer.

This, as many things, led me to God’s word. What is awesome about it, is God’s word is for everyone. God gave his word to all and wants it in the hands of everyone. We were blessed this past week to give our second grader not one but two Bibles. At our church and school its a rite of passage. Once they can read, we put the Word in their hands.

Today’s Questions: Do you pick up the Bible regularly? If not, why not? Do you feel you aren’t worthy? What do you do to put the Word in people’s hands?

Scripture
  • Mark 16:15 – And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.
  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
  • Romans 15:4 – For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Reflection

If you look at the scripture, it doesnt say that the scriptures are only for the righteous. It says it is for teaching. We all need to learn and need encouragement. Read those verses again. We need His Word to be equipped for everything Gid wants us to do. Its through Christ that we are made worthy.

As we close, don’t let anyone make you feel that you are not worthy of God or his Word. Your identity co.es from Him and nothing you do or someone does to you can take that away.

Prayer

Father God, thank you for sending your son to make us worthy in your eyes. Thank you for giving us your Word to help us learn, grow, and be equipped for all the works you have planned for us. We love you and are excited for what comes next. We pray for your grace and love as we dtidy your word. Amen.
