3:204 – Ok God, I Hear You!
#faithbites #fairhourney God
Do you ever feel that you keep going through the same thing over and over and it gets harder each time? I was having a conversation with a dear friend today and she said maybe having the tough week she has is God’s way of getting through to her that she needs to change. I’ve had this same feeling. That God keeps pushing us in his direction when we don’t listen to him. He is a God of love and wants us to be well. This is his way of sending us a wake-up call.
Are you ready to admit that what is going on in your life isn’t just happenstance and you’re ready to listen to God?
Scripture
- Mark 4:24 – And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.
- Isaiah 30:21 – And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left
Reflection
God is full of love and wants the best for us. What we need to do is listen to his word. He is that voice in our head telling us to go left or right. If he says zig and we zag, we will feel it. It might not be immediate but that lesson he wanted us to learn will come back again and again until we learn to listen and go his way.
God never forces us to go a certain way as we have free will. But with free will comes temptation and sin. Sometimes, we think we are living in God’s Grace but the same situation comes up over and over. This is a sign that maybe we need to adjust. Do we have to keep that job that pays well but we are unhappy? Do we need to stay in the relationship we are in when it’s not good for us?
There are many situations like this and none of them are easy. But the voice of God is hard to miss if you are listening to it.
We have to be ready to hear his voice and truly listen to what he’s saying, then act.
Challenge
How do we make that hard change? How do we listen and know what God wants? Take a second to look at your life. Are you experiencing a reoccurring situation? It could be that God wants you to make a change and you haven’t learned your lesson yet. Are you ready to learn this lesson?
Prayer
Father God, thank you for never leaving us. We love you and know that you want the best for us. While we may hate it, we know that you want us to grow in you. Keep giving us the lessons we need to learn. We may complain and buck but we need them. Please help us to finally learn that lesson and make the change your been wanting us to do. Give us comfort knowing that this is your way and we are doing your will. In your name, Amen.
