3:44 – Satan Lies, God Doesn’t
#faithbites #faithjourney Satan
Yesterday, I talked about how my brain lies to me and how sometimes I need others to tell me if something is real or not. Call it paranoia, anxiety, temptation, of Satan, we are often doubting ourselves.
The thief comes to kill and destroy (John 10:10). That destruction comes in many forms. Some we recognize, others, we don’t like our brain lying to us.
No matter what Satan does, God is there and honest. We just need to trust His honesty and that he will conquer all darkness.
Scripture
- Then Jesus cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know Me and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. – John 7:28
- “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” – Numbers 23:19
Reflection
God is not man. Jesus was fully God and fully man. They are different from us. They are sinless including not lying. No matter what Satan says to you, even in the form of your brain lying, it is not true.
When we are far from the Lord, we can get confused as to who’s voice we a re hearing. Remember, God loves you and will never lie. He also surrounds you with His people who can speak the truth. When in doubt, seek them out.
Challenge
Identify your people who can help you understand when it’s God or Satan, when your brain is telling the truth or now. Trust them.
Prayer
Lord God, thank you for loving us. Thank you for giving us people to help us know when we are going astray. We love you and need help when temptation comes knocking. Help us to be strong and courageous and look only to you for Truth. In your name, Amen
