2:247- W.W.J.D?
#faithbites #faithjourney W.W.J.D
W.W.J.D? What would Jesus do? I often find myself doing things I don’t want to from gossiping to being angry fo being prideful. Then I see people who claim to be Christian doing the most unChristian-like things.
But what would Jesus do? Imagine if we asked this question before we took the actions we did?
Immigration. Gay Rights. Abortion. Capital Punishment. Government taxes. Corporate Greed. Education. The lost goes on and on. But if we asked WWJD and then answered it based on a thorough understanding of the Law and the Gospel, wouldn’t our world be different?
Scripture
- For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 1 Peter 2:21
- Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. – John 14:12
Reflection
Christ is our example. Our beacon for ho we should behave.
Jesus ate with sinners. He cast out the tax collectors who were defiling the temple. He broke down walls so there weren’t Jews and Gentiles. He went to people who needed his healing and his word.
If we want to be “Good Christians”, let’s ask ourselves. W.W.J.D on a daily basis
Charge
In a debate with someone? Ask W.W.J.D
Someone not behaving how you think or believe? Ask W.W.J.D
Don’t know what to do? Ask W.W.J.D
Prayer
Lord God, you have us a perfect example in your Son. Let us walk in his path, continually asking ourselves what would he do. Give us that answer and the strength to follow that answer. It is hard but we know all things are possible through you. Thank you Lord. Amen.
