5:108 – After Easter

#faithbites #faithjourney after

Intro

He is risen. He is risen indeed, Hallelujah. Today is Holy Monday and this season is over. (Yes, our Orthodox friends celebrate soon). Now that Easter has passed, what do we do?

The disciples knew what came after the resurrection: the work. They had the Power of Christ as new creations and it was time to build the church.

Questions

  • Your celebration may be over. What is next for your #faithjourney
  • How do you life after His resurrection and your forgiveness of sin?
Scripture
  • 2 Corinthians 5:20 – We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
  • John 21:17 – 17 The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?”(A) He said, “Lord, you know all things;(B) you know that I love you.”Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.(
Reflection

We have work to do as followers of Jesus. He made us his ambassadors and gave us the great commission. At the end of the book of John, he asked Peter 3 times of he loves him. This is the in parallel to the 3 times he denied him. Jesus forgave Peter his sins and reinstated him as the rock of the church. That being said, when he asks Peter if he loves him and Peter says yes, Jesus tells him to feed his sheep.

That is our command: To love God and our neighbors. To feed his sheep. To love on another. It doesn’t get more clear than that. He wants us to do as he did here, loving, healing, and forgiving.

As we close, let’s get done to business and work as he wants us to.

Prayer

Lord God, thank you for your Son and his example. Jesus, thank you for giving us direction and appointing us as your ambassadors. We often fall short of that commission and ask for givenesa. Please help us to love better, share better, and feed your sheep better. In your name, we pray, Amen..
