5:83 – Respite
#faithbites #faithjourney #faithbiteslite respite
Intro
For the first time in a long time, I’m alone. My fmsily is visiting great grandma and I had to work. At first, I felt guilty for wanting to enjoy the quiet and not being “on” all the time. Now, through the help of friends, I’m realizing we all need me time, we all need respite.
Scripture
Mark 6:30-32 – The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest”
Prayer
Father God, help us practice self care. On the seventh day you rested, Jesus told the disciples after their work to rest, and now it’s our turn. Remind us that we shouldn’t feel guilty for needing respite. Having “me” time and time with you is giving us energy and rejuvenation to continue your work. We pray for harmony in this and all things. In your name, Amen.
