4:361 – Wasting Power
#faithbites #faithjourney wasting
Setting
Today, I was walking into the bathroom at the movie theater, and a young boy was setting off the automatic hand dryers. His dad told him not to do that as he was wasting power.
As I walked away, I thought about how many times we are wasting God’s power and energy doing things that don’t matter or going down the wrong path. We may not even know that we are doing it, but thanks to Jesus, we can be forgiven, and try again.
Today’s Questions: Do you ever feel that you are spinning your wheels? Maybe you look back and wonder where all the time went. How can you use your gifts and God’s power to the best of your ability?
Scripture
- Colossians 1:29 – For this I toil, struggling with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
- Ephesians 5:16-17 – Making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Reflection
God gives us his energy and power so that we can accomplish all things. He hasn’t given us any task or temptation that we can overcome. We need to make the best use of our limited time and energy to do this.
We all make mistakes and have wasted time and power. Heck, I’ve found myself playing games on my phone and 3 hours have gone buy. Yes, I need to rest and focus on tomorrow.
That boy in the bathroom was just having a little fun. He wasn’t thinking about power or that it has limits. While God’s power is limitless, our time is not. As we close remember to make the best of every moment, seek to improve when you don’t, and follow God at all times.
Prayer
Father God, thank you for your Everlasting love and never ending power. Help us to use our gifts and energy to serve you in all things we do. We pray this in your name, Amen.
