4:359 – New Birth, New Life
#faithbites #faithjourney birth
Setting
Merry Christmas, everyone. What an amazing day. I pray you all have had a wonderful and blessed day. Today, my new nephew was born. Mom, Baby, and Dad are all doing well. I can’t wait to meet him. His birth will change everyone’s life. Things will be different and his whole family will grow around and with him.
At the same time we celebrate, Jesus’s birth. His birth gave a new life not only for him. And changes for his family but for the whole world. We are blessed by him and try to lead our lives following his example.
Today’s Questions: How does a new birth impact you? How has your life become new after accepting Jesus Christ as your savior?
Scripture
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
- Ephesians 4:22-24 – To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
- Isaiah 43:19 – Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Reflection
A new life and new ways of doing things can be scary. Change is hard. Having a new new baby when you’ve already been through it a few times before can be crazy. At the same time, you are welcoming in a new life, your life. Is becoming new again. We often don’t think about that as our focus is in the baby, but everything about us is changing. If we embrace the change, we can grow how God wants us too..
Likewise, accepting Jesus and seeing the gift that he is, gives us all new life. The old self is gone, our sins are forgiven, and we get to start new. The most awesome thing (and yes I know my grammar is poor) is that when we make a mistake, we can be forgiven and try again.
As we close, remember a new life gives us a new birth and a new life. Jesus was born, lived, and died, so we can have that new wonderful life. Merry Christmas.
Prayer
Lord God, thank you for the gift of new life in the birth of your Son. We are beyond blessed by the change for forgiveness, peace, and hope. Please be with my brother, my sister-in-law, and my nibblings as they begin their new life with him. Lord, surround them with love, peace, support, and help. Remind them, that they are changing and its part of your plan. We love you and in your name, pray, Amen.
